Stylish Clothing While Pregnant And Nursing

You don’t have to give up your fashion sense because you are expecting.

Most women dislike the maternity wear available to them because it is far from being stylish and trendy. Many times it does not even begin to be modern in the cut of the clothing, or it draws undue attention to your belly with cartoon characters. You might want to look for clothing that has an empire waist, or ties under the bust, because these are currently in style and lend itself well to a nice looking pregnancy wardrobe,

If you are like most of us, you will need a maternity dress to attend church or to have for special occasions. You can have it in any style you wish, but you do want to stick to the same rules that apply to the body shape you had prior to your pregnancy so you can remain looking your best. If you have a pear figure, a long and flowing dress is good, and if you have an hourglass shape, then a sheath can make you look beautiful.

If you really can’t find anything you like, do a simple search on the internet on how to alter your own clothing. A quick trip to a fabric store for the elastic and access to a sewing machine is all that’s needed. Most of the time, it takes rudimentary skills to change a favorite pair of pants to be able to be worn while pregnant. In some tutorials, it doesn’t even require any sewing, and this is where you can let your creativity shine.

Once you have the baby, then you need to look into some stylish nursing wear, if you decide to breast feed. There are many stylish options for it, and even a large button down shirt, or a wrap top can work and be in a regular department store. You do need to find clothing that can give the baby quick access when it’s hungry, and there are many that are still in style you can purchase.

After you’re done with nursing and pregnancy, you may want to donate the clothing or hang on to them. If you plan on having more children in a couple of years, then keeping them might be good, since you already worked on having a nice wardrobe. You can always re-alter them to fit your body post-baby as well, and give a longer life to the trendier items. If you decide to give them away, you may want to set up a swap for their pre-baby clothing, or just give them to your favorite charity.

You can be stylish and fashionable during and after your pregnancy with a bit of information and time.
